1. The Service

Zap.Tools is a free, web-based collection of utility tools. Most tools run entirely in your browser; a small number proxy requests to public URLs you provide. See our Privacy Policy for the full data-handling picture.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation, or any third party's rights.
• Use the Service to process content you don't have the legal right to process (e.g. removing a watermark from an image you didn't create or license).
• Attempt to bypass the rate limits, SSRF protections, or other security controls of our server endpoints, or use them to scan, attack, or exfiltrate data from third parties.
• Use automated tooling to scrape, mirror, or otherwise bulk-replicate the Service.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any compiled artefact beyond what is permitted by law.

3. No warranty: engineering and financial tools

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

This is particularly important for our finance and electronics & embedded calculators. Several tools display a prominent Engineering Disclaimer banner: those calculators are for educational and planning use only, and their output is not a substitute for a licensed engineer, certified electrician, qualified financial advisor, or authoritative standard (NEC, IEC, IEEE, applicable financial regulations). Always verify safety-critical or financially-material calculations against authoritative sources and qualified professional review before acting on them.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Zap.Tools, its operators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

5. Intellectual property

The Service, the Zap.Tools name, logo, and the user interface are owned by Zap.Tools. Third-party libraries are licensed under their respective open-source licenses. Content you process through the Service remains yours; we make no claim to it.

6. DMCA & takedown

If you believe content hosted by the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice including (a) your contact information, (b) a description of the work, (c) the URL of the allegedly infringing material, and (d) a good-faith statement, to hello@zap.tools. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Service availability

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. Because the Service is free and there is no account, we have no obligation to preserve any specific tool, feature, or URL indefinitely.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. Material changes will bump the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
